Mrs. Gioconda holds a B.A. in Education and Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies from The King's College. She holds a New York State teacher certification and is also certified through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Mrs. Gioconda has completed Level One training as an educational therapist through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD) and has additional training in Asperger's Syndrome and gifted and talented education. She has also studied curriculum writing and developed the hands-on science program used by RLCA's after-school Science Club.

After thirteen years in commercial training and development at IBM, Mrs. Gioconda began a seventeen-year career teaching third and fourth grade at Red Lion Christian Academy, where she was also involved in the theatre program and the Science Club.

Mrs. Gioconda and her husband Dave, attend Reach Church. Their two children, Mikaela and Nathan, attended RLCA from kindergarten through graduation. Nathan is a second-generation Red Lion teacher, where he teaches music.

Mrs. Gioconda owns Shadowfax Stables in Earleville, MD. She enjoys traveling, reading, theatre, music, and movies.
